Exit Through the Gift Shop is a often-fascinating look into the world of street art, a field I am intrigued by, though know little about. The film explores the character of Thierry Guetta, a French immigrant, who, through family ties and a love of filming the everything around him, gets swept up in the street art craze, right around its boom in the mid 00's. While I don't love the film as much as others, it is undoubtedly a very good picture, put together by the awesome street artist Banksy. The film's end explores what art means, and peels away at some of the pretension that had built up throughout the movie. Guetta is a very interesting character, Banksy a good director, and street artists intriguing enough to make this a film worth watching.
